Our expert team based in the CEA of Saclay recently published a scientific paper regarding the development and scale-up of a stereoretentive α-deuteration of amines.
Contrary to the classic and cost-and-time-consuming method used in labs, this technique could allow the production of amine deuteration inexpensively by using ruthenium on carbon catalyst, hydrogen gas at atmospheric pressure and deuterium oxide. In addition to this, this new process is also efficient to produce large quantities of deuterated amino acids.
Congratulations to Alessia Michelotti, Fabien Rodrigues, and Maxime Roche for this new discovery!
