Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a technique used in the medical field to detect cancer tumors in the body. The PET camera measures beta-radiations emitted by a radioactive probe molecule. One of the most used radioactive molecules is Fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG), which is produced from oxygen-18 water.
